Alstom T&D bags two contracts worth Rs 176 crore from PGCIL

Alstom T&D India has bagged two contracts worth Rs 176 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL). The first contract for Rs 105 crore is the largest order for 765 kv shunt reactors awarded to the company to date. The order is for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 80 MVAR and 110 MVAR reactors for 765 kv substations located at Gaya (Bihar), Ranchi (Jharkand), Dharamjaygarh (Chhattisgarsh) and Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).

The second contract worth Rs 71 crore is for the supply erection, testing and commissioning of 80 MVAR 765 kv reactors including complete civil work for the GIS substation at Padghe and the 765 kv substation at Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra.

The reactors will delivered from the company’s Vadodara unit which is a world class factory for extra and ultra high Voltage product range from generator transformers, interconnecting transformers, shunt reactors and HVDC transformers.

The reactor, once installed in the grids, will strengthen power transmission network in eastern, northern and western region of India and mitigate the gap between demand and supply of power, accelerating infrastructural development.

Alstom Grid has a vast knowledge and experience in the field of shunt rectors with air- gap cores and magnetic shield to ensure low vibration and minimal noise levels. The company‘s state -of -the art designs regulation for shunt rectors allows for optimised design for safe and reliable.
