Most of the Asian equity benchmark indices are trading lower in the early deals on Wednesday, pressured by losses on Wall Street as the technology sector stuttered again after a brief rebound. Meanwhile, Japan's Nikkei index inched lower as major exporters are mostly down on a stronger yen. Among the other Asian markets China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan exhibit a downward trend, while Indonesia is in positive territory.
Nikkei 225 dripped 361.66 points or 1.6% to 22,260.72, Taiwan Weighted lower 166.05 points or 1.57% to 10,400.80, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped 4.65 points or 0.27% to 1,720.19, Hang Seng reduced 361.16 points or 1.25% to 28,481.64, Shanghai Composite dripped 19.91 points or 0.6% to 3,283.77, Straits Times weakened 21.31 points or 0.62% to 3,416.75 and KOSPI Index was down by 28.23 points or 1.12% to 2,481.89.
On the flip side, Jakarta Composite was up 38.06 points or 0.63% to 6,038.54.
