NMDC is reportedly targeting iron ore production of 100 million tonnes (mt) by 2030 from 34 mt last year. Moreover, the company is planning to increase production capacity to 67 mt by 2022.
With a production of 35.6 million tonnes of iron ore in 2016-17, it showed a turnover of Rs 8,860 crore, showing a growth of 37 per cent. The profit before tax was put at Rs 4,239 crore, a growth of 5 per cent over previous year.
NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
