Mumbai-headquartered Welspun India has received approval from Wimbledon organizers to retail the Christy towels in India from next year. The towels which used in the Wimbledon Championship by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Maria Sharapova will also be available in the country from next year.
Welspun India is supplying over a lakh Christy towels for the said tournament which starts from June 25, 2012 and will end on July 8 in London. In this regard, the company had shipped 92,493 pieces of towels.
Earlier in 2006, the company acquired CHT Holdings, the holding company of the Britain’s leading towel brand -- Christy.
