Bayer CropScience planning to acquire Monsanto: Report

Bayer CropScience is reportedly planning to acquire US-based Monsanto. In this regard, the company is awaiting approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to go ahead with the $66 billion merger.

The deal, which was announced in September 2016, required approval from about 30 countries, and so far 14 have approved the mega merger, which will result into the world's largest seed and pesticides firm.

Bayer CropScience is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of crop-protection solutions, and trades in seeds on behalf of group company Bayer Bioscience.
