Kingfisher Airlines lands in red as lessors reclaim 32 planes

The debt-ridden airline - Kingfisher is defaulting on lease rentals by around Rs 1,000 crore, which has coerced the lessors to take back 32 planes from the airline’s fleet between March to June period. However, Kingfisher has maintained its stance that the airline has returned the aircrafts voluntarily. Presently, the airline is operating with only 15 planes as another 15 aircrafts are in hanger due to spares requirement. The news has affected the stock severely, which plunged 7-13%.

Kingfisher Airlines is currently trading at Rs. 12.46, down by 0.97 points or 7.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 13.43 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 13.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 13.50 and Rs. 11.62 respectively. So far 7978228 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 41.30 on 04-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 10.05 on 01-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 14.20 and Rs. 13.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 832.83 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 47.28% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.48% and 34.24% respectively.
