ABB secures order worth $75 million from Iraq

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group has secured contract worth $75 million from the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq. The company, as per the contract, will extend an existing transmission substation in the Southern part of the country and accordingly, the 400/132 kV (kilovolt) Amara substation will connect a new 500 megawatt (MW) gas based power plant as well as smaller power stations to the grid.

The company will take care of all the project management, design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the substation, including civil works. Further, the project is scheduled to be completed by 2013.
