Paring all their initial losses, Asian markets entered into green terrain in early deals on Wednesday. Earlier, the regional markets made a subdued start and most of them traded cautiously as President Donald Trump struck a mostly conciliatory tone in his first State of the Union address. Investors also remained cautious as they kept an eye on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy announcement due later in the day. But, markets took U-turn and all the markets entered into green terrain, as traders opted to buy beaten down but fundamentally strong stocks.
Asian markets were trading mostly in green; Shanghai Composite rose 5.98 points or 0.17% to 3,493.99, Taiwan Weighted gained 15.96 points or 0.14% to 11,092.74, KOSPI Index increased 23.86 points or 0.93% to 2,591.60, Nikkei 225 jumped 43.91 points or 0.19% to 23,335.88, Jakarta Composite added 45.28 points or 0.69% to 6,620.77 and Hang Seng was up by 137.9 points or 0.42% to 32,745.19.
