Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has successfully blown in the Blast Furnace No 8 - Mahamaya on January 3, 2018. With the new furnace on-stream, the company’s Bhilai Steel Plant’s hot metal capacity will go up to 7.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) from the present production level of around 5 MTPA.
