Bond yields edged higher on Monday, as demand for debt remained weak.
In the global market, U.S. Treasury prices gained on Friday as uncertainty about recent stock market volatility helped boost demand for the bonds and as investors’ rebalanced portfolios ahead of month-end. Furthermore, oil prices held little changed near two-week highs, supported by comments from Saudi Arabia that it would continue to curb exports in line with the OPEC-led effort to cut global supplies.
Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point higher at 7.69% from its previous close of 7.68% on Friday.
