Ambuja Cements reported a rise of 7.93% in June 2012 cement production at 1.782 million tonnes from 1.651 million tonnes for June 2011. Meanwhile, the company’s dispatches were at 1.790 million tonnes compared with 1.668 million tonnes, registering an increase of 7.31%.
For January-June 2012 period, cement production and dispatches were 11.678 million tonnes and 11.675 million tonnes respectively, compared with 10.790 million tonnes and 10.775 million tonnes respectively in the corresponding period last year.
The company has posted a fall of 23.38% in its net profit at Rs 312.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 407.48 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 19.73% at Rs 2660.93 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2222.47 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
