Pharma companies gain ahead of Commerce Minister's meet to review the sector

Shares of pharma companies were trading with traction ahead of Commerce and Industry Ministry meeting with the pharmaceutical industry players, later in the day. Amid slowdown in exports, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma will hold discussions on ways to enhance shipments and promote 'Brand India' in world market. The group would also discuss providing support to research and development in the sector.

Dr Reddys Laboratories is currently trading at Rs 1665.60, up by 22.00 points or 1.34% from its previous closing of Rs 1643.60 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 1648.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1675.00 and Rs 1648.40 respectively. So far 9272 shares were traded on the counter.

Cipla is currently trading at Rs 317.20, up by 1.30 points or 0.41% from its previous closing of Rs 315.90 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 316.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs 319.40 and Rs 314.40 respectively. So far 35767 shares were traded on the counter.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals is currently trading at Rs 379.25, up by 6.95 points or 1.87% from its previous closing of Rs 372.30 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 374.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 383.60 and Rs 370.60 respectively. So far 61945 shares were traded on the counter.

However, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries is currently trading at Rs 630.85, down by 4.00 points or 0.63% from its previous closing of Rs 634.85 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 638.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs 640.00 and Rs. 628.10 respectively. So far 21294 shares were traded on the counter.
