NMDC has inaugurated the Remote Sensing & GIS Lab at Hyderabad on May 2, 2018.
Besides, NMDC and NRSC (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India has joined hands through a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to Promote Space Applications in exploration and other mining activities for Satellite Based Geological Mapping and Multidisciplinary Exploration of Iron, Diamond and other mineral deposits, which is a step forward towards ‘Digital India’ as Space Technology provides real-time data for generation of digital maps.
NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
