ONGC gains on reporting 6.3% rise in natural gas production in FY18

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is currently trading at Rs. 184.00, up by 0.40 points or 0.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 183.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 184.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 186.00 and Rs. 183.50 respectively. So far 150349 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 212.90 on 25-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 155.30 on 27-Jun-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 186.00 and Rs. 179.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 235939.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.72%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.72% and 13.57% respectively.

ONGC has registered 6.3% rise in natural gas production to 23.484 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2017-18 as against 22.088 bcm in 2016-17. This is the highest gas output by the company in five years and the growth rate is higher than the global average of 3-4 per cent year-on-year. The company is on track to double the output by 2022.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
