Idea Cellular strengthens on getting nod to increase FDI limit to 100%

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 63.00, up by 0.25 points or 0.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 62.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 64.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 64.10 and Rs. 62.80 respectively. So far 127610 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 118.00 on 05-Jan-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 50.05 on 14-May-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 64.10 and Rs. 60.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27357.84 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.56%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.37% and 19.07% respectively.

Idea Cellular has received approval on its application to increase Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) limit in the company to 100%, from the current 67.5%, from the Department of Telecom (DoT) on June 4, 2018.

The approval is for total foreign investment upto 100% in Idea Cellular, and total indirect FDI in its relevant subsidiaries -- Aditya Birla Telecom and Idea Cellular Infrastructure Services. The merger of Vodafone India with Idea Cellular is in the final leg of regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in H1CY18, subject to the final approval from the DoT.

Idea Cellular is an AV Birla group company and provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level.
