Idea Cellular, which is in the last leg of completing its proposed merger with Vodafone India, has got shareholders’ approval to change the name of the company to Vodafone Idea. The change in the name will be effective from post completion of merger of Vodafone in the company.
The company is planning to raise funds worth Rs 15,000 crore through issue of non-convertible securities on private placement basis.
Idea Cellular is an AV Birla group company and provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level.
