Mercator surges on the bourses

Mercator is currently trading at Rs. 22.25, up by 0.90 points or 4.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 21.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 22.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 22.75 and Rs. 21.75 respectively. So far 251298 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 49.00 on 01-Nov-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 21.05 on 27-Jun-2018.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 24.80 and Rs. 21.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 665.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 30.73%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.19% and 52.08% respectively.

Department of Petroleum (DoP), Government of Gujarat has granted Mining Lease to Mercator Petroleum (MPL), a Mercator Group Company for exploiting oil discoveries made by MPL. The Mining Lease has been awarded for a period of 20 years.

Earlier, the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons had approved the Field Development Plan (FDP) for over 23 million barrels of recoverable Oil in Jyoti-l and Jyoti-2 discoveries.

Mercator is one of India's largest private sector Dredging Company. The group has a presence in varied segments namely shipping, offshore services, oil exploration and production, dredging, coal mining/trading and logistics.
