Coal India soars on its arm achieving record production in Q1

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 270.30, up by 6.15 points or 2.33% from its previous closing of Rs. 264.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 269.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 270.90 and Rs. 260.80 respectively. So far 334205 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 316.55 on 27-Feb-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 234.00 on 11-Aug-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 270.90 and Rs. 258.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 167134.49 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 78.55%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.34% and 3.11% respectively.

Coal India’s subsidiary company -- Western Coalfields -- has achieved record production 9.643 million tonne of coal during the first quarter, registering a growth of over 18%. The company has dispatched over 13 million tonne during this period, which is growth of 22.2% over the same period last year.

The daily production has crossed 1 lakh tonne, daily dispatch touched 1.50 lakh tonne and the available stock touched over 7.6 million tonne in the mines.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
