Genesys International Corporation has completed extensive HD mapping of road and street network for an Autonomous Driving project for a community in North America.
The HD map with high precision navigational geometry and 360 degree Panoramic Imagery will bring a door-to-door self-driving taxi service to the residents of the community who will have the ability to request a self-driving car to their doorstep and then travel anywhere within the bounds of the community fully autonomously. These HD Maps are created from LiDAR source data which consists of billions of pixels or commonly referred to as a point cloud.
