SAIL to exit non-operational, non-performing JVs

SAIL has started process to exit some of its joint ventures (JVs) that are either non-operational or non-performing. The company is also exploring options to monetise investment in certain JV companies.

Some of the JVs include NTPC-SAIL Power, Bokaro Power Supply, International Coal Venture (ICVL), while some of the non-operating JVs of the company include UEC Sail Information Technology and Romelt SAIL.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
