Container Corporation of India spurts on reporting decent Q1 figures

Container Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs 954.00, up by 33.90 points or 3.68% from its previous closing of Rs 920.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 925.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 966.95 and Rs 925.00 respectively. So far 1901 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1174.90 on 29-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 805.00 on 30-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 966.95 and Rs 895.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 12402.31 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.09% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.61% and 4.31% respectively.

Container Corporation of India has registered a jump of 4.69% in its net profit at Rs 245.13 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 234.15 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income of the company has increased by 11.05% at Rs 1119.21 crore for Q1FY13 as compared Rs 1007.88 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Container Corporation of India is engaged in the business of transportation through containerization and it is the market leader having the largest network of 59 ICDs/CFSs in India.
