Reliance Industries slips despite reporting 17% rise in Q2 consolidated net profit

Reliance Industries is currently trading at Rs. 1091.00, down by 57.90 points or 5.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 1148.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1103.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1105.10 and Rs. 1073.15 respectively. So far 847120 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1328.75 on 29-Aug-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 861.70 on 18-Dec-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1,180.95 and Rs. 1,073.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 696598.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 47.35%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.13% and 16.52% respectively.

Reliance Industries has reported a rise of 7.19% in its net profit of Rs 8,859 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2018 as compared to Rs 8,265 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 36.65% at Rs 100,874 crore for Q2FY19 as compared Rs 73,818 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a rise of 17.35% in its net profit of Rs 9,516 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2018 as compared to Rs 8,109 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total consolidated income of the company increased by 51.20% at Rs 147,268 crore for Q2FY19 as compared Rs 97,402 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
