Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is preparing for supply of wheels for newly introduced Linke Hoffman Busche (LHB) coaches for the Indian railways. The company is the only domestic producer of forged wheels which are used for high speed trains and locomotives. The company’s Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) is collective to ensure the timely delivery of wheels and axles to Indian Railways.
SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
