Team Anna’s indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar in capital to pressurize UPA-II for stronger Lokpal is witnessing lukewarm response from the people. The fast has entered second day with the crowd being around 600-1000 which included volunteers of India Against Corruption, media personnel and police, as against thousands who had visited to the team’s protest in last year August. Delhi police had forecasted around 2,500-3,000 visitors, however, on both days the response was modest.

Anna Hazare has demanded stronger Ombudsman Bill to be passed in the Upper House and threatened a 'jail bharo' agitation. Also, the social activist threatened to campaign against government in the Lok Sabha elections. Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai - are on fast demanding the constitution of a high-level independent probe into graft charges against several members of the Union Cabinet.

The Lokpal Bill, which was cleared in the lower assembly in the winter session, is expected not only to curb the corruption activities in country but also punish the MPs and other political leaders who are holding top positions despite graft charges against them.
