India reports 8.77 MT of crude steel production in October

World Steel Association (worldsteel) in its latest report showed that India has reported crude steel production of about 8.77 million tonne (MT) in October, an increase of 0.4% compared to same period previous year’s 8.73 MT. According to the association’s report, world crude steel production has attained about 156.6 MT in October 2018, a rise of 5.8% with that of same month last year.

On global front, USA claimed production of 7.6 MT crude steel in October 2018, an increase of 10.5%, China’s crude steel production for October 2018 was 82.6 MT, up 9.1%, South Korea produced 6.2MT, up 3.5% and Italy’s crude steel production for October 2018 was 2.3 MT, up 1.1% on last year's figures.

While, Spain produced 1.3 MT in October 2018, dipped by 7.4% on 2017, Crude steel production in Ukraine was 1.8 MT this month, down 6.7% on October 2017. Japan produced 8.6 MT of crude steel, contracted 4.5% on October 2017 figures, in Turkey, crude steel production for October 2018 was 3.2 MT, a decrease of 4.3%, and France marked production of 1.3 MT of crude steel in October 2018, a decrease of 3.5%.
