Most of the Asian market indices are trading lower in early deals on Tuesday amid doubts over whether the US and China will be able to settle their trade disputes before the 90-day deadline. The Japanese market is losing despite the positive cues from Wall Street. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Malaysia are in negative territory. Bucking the trend, Shanghai and Indonesia are higher.
Nikkei 225 declined 330.67 points or 1.49% to 22,244.09, Hang Seng dropped 70.03 points or 0.26% to 27,112.01, Taiwan Weighted slipped 41.70 points or 0.41% to 10,096.17, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped 8.34 points or 0.49% to 1,691.38, Straits Times declined 28.98 points or 0.92% to 3,161.64, and KOSPI Shares down by 18.21 points or 0.86% to 2,113.72.
On the flip side, Jakarta Composite improved 22.45 points or 0.37% to 6,140.77, and Shanghai Composite up by 1.16 points or 0.04% to 2,655.96.
