Bharat Electronics reports 84% fall in Q1 net profit

Bharat Electronics has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2012.

On standalone basis, the company has posted a fall of 84.27% in its net profit at Rs 19.32 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 122.80 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has decreased by 11.51% to Rs 960.16 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1084.99 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) was set up at Bangalore by the Government of India under the Ministry of Defence in 1954 to meet the specialised electronic needs of the Indian defence services. Over the years, it has grown into a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-unit company serving the needs of customers in diverse fields in India and abroad.
