Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Friday

Most of the Asian market indices are trading higher in early deals on Friday, but investors continued to watch for reports about United States and China trade dispute. China's Shanghai Composite index was marginally higher amid yuan weakened as US-China tensions remain elevated. Among the other Asian markets, Nikkei, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Indonesia are higher. Bucking the trend, Malaysia is in negative territory.

Nikkei 225 jumped 126.89 points or 0.59% to 21,628.51, Hang Seng added 70.41 points or 0.27% to 26,226.79, Taiwan Weighted climbed 76.45 points or 0.78% to 9,761.17, Shanghai Composite increased 1.96 points or 0.08% to 2,607.14, Straits Times gained 12.91 points or 0.41% to 3,128.39, Jakarta Composite improved 20.35 points or 0.33% to 6,135.84, and KOSPI Shares up by 11.46 points or 0.55% to 2,080.15.

On the flip side, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI down by 2.63 points or 0.16% to 1,680.71.
