Most of the Asian market indices are trading lower in early deals on Tuesday amid reports that China and the United States are preparing next stage of trade talks. Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei is lower as worries about global growth pressured financial stocks and uncertainty over a US-Japan trade deal hit automakers. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia are lower. Bucking the trend, Taiwan and Shanghai are higher.
Nikkei 225 dipped 88.58 points or 0.42% to 21,130.92, Hang Seng dropped 29.34 points or 0.11% to 25,723.04, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI declined 6.84 points or 0.41% to 1,656.47, Straits Times decreased 12.72 points or 0.41% to 3,059.72, KOSPI Shares tumbled 0.30 points or 0.01% to 2,053.49, and Jakarta Composite down by 33.01 points or 0.54% to 6,078.35.
On the flip side, Taiwan Weighted added 45.21 points or 0.47% to 9,692.75, and Shanghai Composite up by 7.17 points or 0.28% to 2,591.75.
