Sagar Cements and Vicat Group of France’s joint venture cement plant at Chatrasal in Gulbarga district of Karnataka will commence production in October. The first phase of the Rs 2,500-crore joint venture is almost ready and had an Rs 1,650-crore investment with a cement production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes. The total capacity, including second phase, will be at 5.5 million tonnes by 2014.
The company has one of the most modern mini cement plants in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The most sophisticated state-of-the-art technology it uses is one of the strengths of the company.
