Coal India’s e-auction to power sector drops by 20% in April-November

Coal India has allocated 21.91 million tonnes (MT) of the dry fuel under special forward e-auction to the power sector in April-November 2018 which registered a decline of 20.1% over the year-ago period. The company had allocated 27.43 MT of coal in the April-November period of 2017-18. Coal allocation dropped sharply by 51.7% on yearly basis to 1.53 MT in November.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
