ONGC to invest Rs 6,000 crore in drilling wells in Assam

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) will be investing up to Rs 6,000 crore in drilling 200 wells across fields of Assam under ONGC Assam Asset in Sivasagar and Charaideo districts. The wells are proposed to be drilled during the next seven years starting from the current financial year. The company’s investment will lead to increase in production from the state.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
