Asian market indices are exhibiting mixed trend in early deals on Tuesday as investors treading cautiously for the second day of US-China trade talks to kick of later in the day. Meanwhile, Japan's Nikkei is higher, tracking Wall Street on hopes that US-Chinese talks in Beijing will reduce trade tensions, with a weaker yen lifting exporters. Among the other Asian markets, Singapore, and Hong Kong are higher. Bucking the trend, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea and Shanghai are negative territory.
FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI declined 2.07 points or 0.12% to 1,677.10, Jakarta Composite slipped 7.44 points or 0.12% to 6,279.78, Taiwan Weighted dropped 24.31 points or 0.25% to 9,565.99, Shanghai Composite decreased 5.14 points or 0.20% to 2,527.95, and KOSPI Shares down by 3.19 points or 0.16% to 2,033.91.
On the flip side, Nikkei 225 jumped 209.71 points or 1.05% to 20,248.68, Hang Seng added 70.12 points or 0.27% to 25,905.82, and Straits Times up by 6.59 points or 0.21% to 3,109.39.
