CCEA hikes minimum support prices for Moong to Rs 4,400 per quintal

For 2012-13 season the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the minimum support prices (MSPS) for Arhar (Tur) and Moong. CCEA has hiked the MSP for Moong by Rs 900 per quintal and has fixed it to Rs 4,400 per quintal while it has increased the MSP for Arhar (Tur) by Rs 650 per quintal to Rs 3,850 per quintal.

Last month, for 2012-13 marketing year (October-September) period, CCEA had approved the hike in the fair and remunerative price (FRP) of sugarcane by 17% to Rs 170 per quintal. The FRP is the minimum price that sugarcane farmers are legally guaranteed and for the ongoing marketing year it stands at Rs 145 per quintal.
