Coal India rises on supplying 389.63 MT of coal to power sector

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 225.40, up by 4.00 points or 1.81% from its previous closing of Rs. 221.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 221.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 226.60 and Rs. 218.10 respectively. So far 188542 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 316.55 on 27-Feb-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 218.10 on 28-Jan-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 231.15 and Rs. 218.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 140132.26 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.91%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.59% and 3.50% respectively.

Coal India (CIL) has supplied 389.63 million tonne (MT) of coal to the power sector in the current financial year till up to January 22, 2019, registering a rise of 8% over the previous year. There has been an increase of 35.6% in coal stock at the power plants as compared to the same period of last year.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
