Coromandel International gets GPCB's notice to close operations at Sarigam unit

Coromandel International has received a notice from Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) to close the operations at Sarigam unit, citing pollution caused by a fire accident took place at the product godown.

The fire at the godown has been put out and the smoke emanating from the debris has been brought under control with the assistance of experts. Adequate measures are being taken for safe disposal of the debris and the damaged goods. The company is taking necessary steps to represent the matter with GPCB for revocation of the closure notice and is hopeful of early resumption of the operations at the said unit.

Coromandel International is engaged in the manufacturing of fertilizers, plant protection chemicals and speciality nutrients.
