SAIL falls despite reporting 14-fold jump in Q3 net profit

Steel Authority of India is currently trading at Rs. 48.45, down by 0.15 points or 0.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 48.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 49.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 49.80 and Rs. 47.85 respectively. So far 517493 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 98.35 on 12-Feb-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 44.60 on 06-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 49.80 and Rs. 44.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 19950.44 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.93% and 5.08% respectively.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has reported 14-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 616.30 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2018 as compared to Rs 43.16 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 3.03% at Rs 15910.45 crore for Q3FY19 as compared Rs 15443.13 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
