Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will inaugurate its steel processing unit in Champaran district of Bihar on February 18, 2019. The foundation stone of the processing unit was laid in November 2007 with rated capacity of 50,000 tonne. The unit has one slitting line and two tube mills.
SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
