Physical Rubber prices witness firmness on Thursday

Physical Rubber prices showed firmness on Thursday due to improved demand from domestic stockists amid the ongoing supply crunch in the market. Further, moderate gains in global trendsetter too supported rubber prices in physical market. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to 125/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 124.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety jumped to 119/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 118.50/ kg.

In the futures market, March delivery rose to Rs 127.31 compared to its previous closing of Rs 127.30, while April delivery was at Rs 130.55 compared to its previous close of Rs 130.50 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
