DCC seeks revenue assurance from MTNL for revival support

The Digital Communications Commission (DCC) has asked Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) to explain its turnaround strategy and give an assurance to achieve higher revenue for getting financial support.

MTNL has sought financial support, 4G spectrum and approvals for asset sales as part of their revival plans.

MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
