Physical Rubber prices witness firmness on Monday

Physical Rubber prices showed firmness on Monday due to improved demand from domestic stockists, and an ongoing supply crunch in the market. Further, gains in the global market are also supported prices in the domestic market. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to 126.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 125.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety jumped to 121.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 120.50/ kg.

In the futures market, March delivery fell to Rs 128.28 compared to its previous closing of Rs 128.35 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
