Chambal Fertilisers executes ECBs agreement to raise $55 million

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals has executed a facility agreement for availing external commercial borrowing (ECBs) for part financing the new Urea plant for production of 1.34 million MT of Urea per annum set up at Gadepan, District, Kota, Rajasthan (Gadepan-III Plant). The company will raise $55 million through external commercial borrowing.

Earlier, the Company had entered into a Rupee Facility Agreement on March 5, 2016 to avail, term loan to part finance Gadepan-III Plant. The amount of the term loan facility tied up with State Bank of India under the Rupee Facility Agreement was reduced to Rs 466.17 crore.

The Company has voluntarily cancelled on March 27, 2019 part of the aforesaid term loan facility with State Bank of India equivalent to Rs 366.17 crore. Accordingly, term loan facility of State Bank of India under Rupee Facility Agreement stands reduced to Rs 100 crore. Such cancellation has been made voluntarily as per the provisions of the rupee facility agreement and does not impact the financing of Gadepan-III Plant.
