Southern Petrochemicals’ halts production at Tuticorin plant

Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation (SPIC) has stopped the production at the company’s plant located at Tuticorin effective from August 12, 2012. The company has taken this step as the reasons were beyond the control of the company since failure of south west monsoon in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) has totally stopped supply of water to the company’s plants at Tuticorin. The production would however recommence once the water supply is restored.

Southern Petrochemical Industry Corporation since its founding has been providing product and services that feed, nourish, and protect the agriculture and rural ecosystem. The company is now a well diversified one with area of businesses spreading from fertilizers to pharma.
