SAIL falls despite registering 8% growth in crude steel output in FY19

Steel Authority of India is currently trading at Rs. 56.70, down by 0.85 points or 1.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 57.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 57.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 58.05 and Rs. 56.30 respectively. So far 552714 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 91.10 on 13-Jun-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 44.10 on 11-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 58.80 and Rs. 51.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23440.73 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.93% and 5.08% respectively.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has reported 8 per cent growth in its crude steel output to 16.3 million tonne (MT) during the financial year ended March 31. The company had produced 15.02 MT of crude steel in 2017-18.

The total steel despatch from SAIL was at 14.86 MT during 2018-19.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
