Asian markets trade mixed in early deals on Monday

Asian equity benchmarks are trading mixed in the early deals on Monday, in a truncated session, followed by the report on soft US inflation data overshadowing the strong GDP numbers and the last session's positive lead from  Wall Street. The Japanese market is closed for a ten-day holiday. China's Shanghai Composite is trading lower amid concerns on still lingering trade war issues. Among the other Asian markets, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and  Indonesia. Bucking the trend Taiwan, Shanghai  and Malaysia are negative territory.

Hang Seng up 214.82 points or 0.73% to 29,819.83, Straits Times jumped 31.47 points or 0.94% to 3,388.42, KOSPI Shares increased 25.28 points or 1.16% to 2,204.59, Jakarta Composite rose 2.77 points or 0.04% to 6,403.85,

On the flip side, Taiwan Weighted down 16.85 points or 0.15% to 10,935.62, Shanghai Composite contracted by 3.32 points or 0.11% to 3,083.08, and  FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped by 4.82 points or 0.29% 1,633.56.
