Asian markets ended mostly higher on Monday, followed by upbeat US GDP data as well as growing optimism over a possible US-China trade deal. The gross domestic product -- the value of all goods and services produced in the US, adjusted for inflation and seasonality -- rose at a 3.2% annual rate from January through March, the strongest rate of first-quarter growth in four years. However, Chinese stocks ended notably lower as investors awaited manufacturing and service sector data for directional cues. Meanwhile, financial markets in Japan were closed for the Golden Week holidays.
