Physical Rubber prices showed firmness on Thursday, due to ongoing supply concerns in the market. Lower production also supported domestic rubber prices. Reports showed global output of natural rubber fell 5.8% on year to 2.14 million tons in Jan-Feb period.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety rose to Rs 128.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 128/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety gained Rs 126/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 125.50/ kg.
In the futures market, May delivery fell to Rs 130.97 compared to its previous closing of Rs 131.03, while June delivery was at Rs 132.10 compared to its previous close of Rs 132.76 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
