Physical Rubber prices witness firmness on Monday

Physical Rubber prices showed firmness on Monday on expectations of a pickup in demand from tyre manufacturers amid ongoing supply crunch in the market. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety jumped to 144/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 143/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety gained Rs 141/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 140/ kg.

In the futures market, June delivery rose to Rs 146.44 compared to its previous closing of Rs 144.94, while July delivery was at Rs 146.50 compared to its previous close of Rs 144.69 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
