Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has set 17.5 million tonne (MT) steel production target for financial year 2020. The company has reported 8% rise in steel production at 16.3 MT during the fiscal ended March 31, 2019.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
