AstraZeneca Pharma India has informed that Anandh Balasundaram has resigned as managing director and member of the board with effect from the close of business hours on August 31, 2012. Accordingly, he shall cease to be managing director and member of the board of AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited with effect from the close of business hours on August 31, 2012. His resignation has been accepted by the board of directors on August 23, 2012.
Further, the company has, as an interim measure, appointed Jonathan Hunt as chief operating officer (COO) and President, for a period of four months commencing from September 01, 2012.
